Overview

The walk combines a "green walk" through Barnes and Putney Lower Common, a long easy Thames walk and a visit to two places of historical beauty and interest. In Chiswick we pass the house of artist William Hogarth and then visit the gardens of Chiswick House where we will stop at the café for lunch/refreshments. The stop will be late in the walk so please bring a picnic lunch.

Change of start point - Meeting time at Sutton Station will remain 09:30 to catch the 09:49 train to Wimbledon and we will take the District Line from there. Alternatively, you can meet leaders at Wimbledon station (by the tube platforms) at 10:10 or at Putney Bridge Underground Station. Loos in Bishops Park after about 20 minutes walking. Muddy in places – we recommend boots.
