A circular walk starting from Beeding Hill, along the Monarch's Way over Thunderbarrow Hill to meet the Sussex Border Path climbing up Perching Hill with a steep decent to a lunch stop at Fulking. There is an option of a pub lunch at the Shepherd and Dog pub (please call the pub to reserve a table if you want a pub lunch for approx 13:00) or a picnic lunch.
After lunch there is a flat stretch (which can be muddy) before a bracing climb up the Downs to join the South Downs Way which we follow back to the start. Be prepared for a lovely walk with lots of undulations and potentially mud. Please car share to make sure everyone can get here and save the planet.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
