We are a friendly, socially active Ramblers Group welcoming all who enjoy walking. Our walks programme is extensive and varied covering all days of the week.
We follow the Beverley Brook through Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park and Barnes Common to the River Thames upstream of Putney. A drop-off is possible at Barnes.
Parts of this walk were very muddy on our recce. Boots essential, poles might be helpful.
Coffee stop in Richmond Park at about 11.45. Picnic lunch or cafe on Barnes Green between 12.45 and 1pm. Optional late lunch or drink in Putney at the end of the walk (about 2.30pm).
Travel home from Putney Bridge - options are tube from Putney Bridge Station (District Line), train from Putney mainline station (to Clapham Junction) and buses. However, please note that buses to Wimbledon and Morden are on a long detour because Wimbledon Hill Road is closed.
