From the car park we head over to the village of Eastby then follow the track which leads us down to the A59 road which we cross and head over the fields to the village of Draughton. We the follow the paths over towards Haw Pike before dropping down towards Bolton Bridge where we will stop for a lunch break. After the break we make our way to Hesketh Farm then have a long road walk until we reach Halton East skirt round the farm and onto Bark lane which we follow back into Eastby,we then retrace our steps back into Embsay. Refreshments will be at the local hostelry.
The walk is over farmland with good paths and tracks to follow. After Hesketh Farm we have a mile or so of road walking along a back country lane which used by cyclists as a short cut to Bolton Abbey PLEASE BE ALERT. There is also a possibility we may encounter some cattle within the fields we have to cross.
