This is a hilly walk with spectacular views. We walk from Boxhill & Westhumble station to Burford Bridge (toilets available) - the path climbs steadily to Mickleham, visiting the ancient church, and then to the grassy open area of Mickleham Gallops (was used to train horses for Epsom). a leafy route takes us to Headley Heath, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Bring a picnic- lunch will be near Headley Church. There is a small cafe and pub nearby for refreshments. After lunch we cross the Heath- wonderful views of the wooded hillsides, to Juniper Hall. Then across Fredley Manor and the river Mole to Box Hill station- trains back to Waterloo and Victoria.
This walk has some steep ascents and descents, and if wet, will be slippery. Appropriate footwear is essential and bring walking poles if you use them. The height gain is 440m
