Starting from the village of Bramfield we will cross open countryside on our way to Panshanger Park. We will walk through the park, passing by the lakes, and will then view the 500 year old oak tree and the remains of the orangery and Panshanger House. Leaving the park we will cross the River Mimram, a rare chalk stream, and head up up the hill, passing by Marden Hill House, and will pass by Red Wood, where if we are lucky, there may be a carpet of bluebells. From there we will traverse Bramfield Park Wood before ending back at Bramfield. All are welcome to join us for a post-walk drink at the Grandison.
Please park in the free car park opposite the Grandison or courteously around the village.
There is no need to pre-book or contact the leader in advance. If you are already a Ramblers member, please just bring your Ramblers card (or membership details on the app) to help speed up the Ramblers register before we start the walk.
