THIS WALK IS NOW FULL
This is a fairly challenging climb up from Bridge of Allan to the dominant hill Dumyat which provides ( weather permitting) superb views of surrounding area. On the way down from the top we will take a path leading off to the left over grassy slope and into woodland round to Yellow Craig where there are also good views. We keep descending through woodland until we reach a burn which we need to cross by stepping stones . This brings us to a minor road which we need to follow uphill for short distance before re- entering woodland above University of Stirling Campus .We then make our way down to university perimeter wall and along various footpaths back to Bridge of Allan where those of you that wish may partake of some refreshment! Trains are fairly frequent back to Glasgow
There are several steep sections up and down . The terrain is very uneven in parts as you would expect on hills and woodland eg rocky sections, tree roots, narrow paths.
Dumyat is a lovely wee hill however and a good entry level for hill climbing. It is very popular with locals and visitors so expect it to be fairly busy. Our route before reaching the hill and after will be quieter.
