A figure of eight walk on mixed terrain in open countryside starting in Milton of Campsie, skirting Lennoxtown and stopping off in Clachan of Campsie for lunch. Lovely views of the Campsies.

We'll catch the X85 bus from Buchanan Street bus station to the start of the walk at Milton of Campsie. Ramblers who are booked on the walk should meet inside the bus station in front of the departure board at 9.10am in time to catch the 9.26am bus.
If you want to meet at Milton of Campsie at 10am instead of travelling with the group by bus, please have this discussion with the leader in advance.
Some sections of the walk are in open fields which may be muddy or boggy. There are a couple of stiles to climb over and a short section of steep, overgrown steps to go up. Also some stretches of ascent. Other sections are on the Strathkelvin Railway Path which is largely flat and on tarmac.
Please note there is an option to shorten the walk by stopping in Clachan of Campsie (about 4.5miles in) and catching bus back from there to Glasgow. Also the possibility to catch bus back from Lennoxtown after 6.5miles. However, neither of these shorter options avoid climbing over the stiles nor up the short, steep section of overgrown steps.
