We meet at Watford Underground Station and follow a delightful circular spring woodland, parkland and waterside walk encompassing some attractive stretches along the banks of the River Gade and Grand Union Canal.
Our route takes us through Wippendell and Harrocks Wood. The bluebells are already emerging so fingers crossed they will be in bloom to greet us as we go. You may wish to pack snacks and on our return to Cassiobury Park we can lunch at the cafe. There are also picnic benches if you prefer to bring your own food.
The paths are generally good, although if it has been wet there are likely to be some muddy stretches especially in the wooded areas. If you use walking poles, these may be helpful.
The walk does have a couple of hills, although most of them work in our favour.
We cross Herts golf course both out and back. Please keep to the path and watch out for golf balls.
There are toilets and a cafe at The Hub in Cassiobury Park.
