A delightful circular walk through hamlets, meadows, fields and spooky churchyards. We'll be starting at the shopping village in Castle Ashby and walking to the hamlet of Chadstone. From there we'll be walking across open fields and woodlands to Cogenhoe Mill where we'll take a short break. Suitably refreshed, we'll continue along the canal towards Whiston and back to Castle Ashby.
This walk will take you through open fields, woodlands and a beautiful stretch of river. Expect to see beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, as well as red kites, herons, field fares and waterbirds. The walk will be on established paths but we shall be climbing the Jerusalem steps and it may be muddy in places depending on the weather conditions. There is plenty of parking at the Castle Ashby Shopping Village. We shall be taking a short break at Cogenhoe Mill but there are no toilets or refreshments facilities here. There is however a lovely cafe at the shopping village after the walk.
