James and Pip will be leading a moderate circular walk from Castle an Dinas and Menalhyl valley, exploring Castle an Dinas and following country paths and quiet lanes along the Menalhyl valley. We will walk up to the Castle where there are some impressive views to the sea and Clays/Bodmin. Then onward towards Tregonetha across the Downs. Then there is a mixture of footpaths and country lanes crossing the river by bridge to return to the Castle car park. We will end with refreshments at Victoria Inn, Roche.
Bring boots, food and drink. There are no toilets en route, and just one stile. The paths are mostly good with occasional muddy patches. Gentle gradients but nothing steep. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
