A circular walk through the World Heritage site of the Luxulyan valley and surrounding countryside. The route includes going across the massive viaduct supporting a horse drawn tram route to Newquay and along the leat that fed Charlestown harbour. There will be valley paths, fields and lanes.
Points of interest: Victorian industrial heritage including Treffry viaduct; tramways and leats for mine waterwheels; wildlife in lush broadleaf woodland.
Boots, food and drink. There are 15 stiles and muddy in places. Unfortunately at the moment there were some livestock en route and a baby calf, so no dogs, unless assistance dogs. Please ask if you are in any doubt.
Please book by email giving telephone contact number to camelwalks@gmail.com. For information on group walks please see the guidance for walkers on the Ramblers website.
