Overview

Meet at the Chalkney Wood car park for a circular walk from Chalkney Wood, Colne Valley and a picnic lunch stop at Great Tey, with the possible option of quick refreshment from The Chequers, before returning via Swan Street. Although the route is familiar, please be aware that time constraints have prevented a walkout.

If heading west on the A1124, just before reaching Earls Colne, turn left onto Tey Road. After half a mile turn left up a narrow lane. The Forestry Commission small car park is situated some 200 yards up this narrow track.
