Starting from Cholsey Railway Station, we will make our way towards Didcot Parkway Railway Station, traversing open countryside and enjoying views of the surrounding farmland and rolling hills. The route takes us through a landscape of expansive fields, hedgerows, and quiet lanes.
As we travel, we will pass near the charming villages of Aston Tirrold, South Moreton, and East Hagbourne, each with its own distinct character. Aston Tirrold, along with its twin village Aston Upthorpe, is nestled at the foot of the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Continuing our journey, we will skirt South Moreton, a picturesque village with a mix of historic houses and modern homes. Further along, we will pass close to East Hagbourne, an attractive Oxfordshire village with a well-preserved historic centre. Approaching Didcot, the landscape gradually transitions from rural to suburban. The final stretch brings us to Didcot Parkway Railway Station.
This will be a relatively short walk, which will take place Sunday morning, up until lunchtime. There will not be a lunch stop along the way.
