This is a figure of eight walk that many of you will be familiar with, which crosses the fields to and from Heydon passing the old Wood Green Animal Centre and back to Chrishall. After the coffee stop near the school we head to Crawley End, turn into Dark Lane and a more wooded trail skirting around Park Wood towards the church. Easy going terrain up a slight hill back to the pub where we always get a warm welcome.
If the Ford in Dark Lane is too flooded nearer the day I will avoid it, which shortens the walk to just under 5 miles.
