Overview

Important Note: Pre-booking required by latest 7pm the day before. Several days earlier if you want the pub.

Meet at Watlington Hill National Trust car park (pay and display or app - £3 all day, NT members free) in time for departure at 10.00am. Outstanding views over the Oxfordshire plain to start with and then, following the Oxfordshire Way, a gentle descent through beech and ash woodland trails to a coffee stop at the quirky and popular Barn Cafe at Turville Heath or alfresco nearby. (Note: The Barn say they require pre-booking for everything. We can’t therefore guarantee you’ll be able to buy a drink if you haven’t.) Then more undulating woodland trails before a short steep climb up to Ibstone, with its millenium stone on the village green, for a picnic or pub lunch. Afterwards returning through rolling farmland and woodland intersecting part of the Chiltern Way.
