Hiding in a fold of Mynydd y Gwair, this serene serpentine valley just begs a complete circumnavigation.
From the margins of Pontarddulais, an easy rise soon has us skirting the lower valley as it unfolds and broadens into green pastures below. Continuing, a steady climb to follow the rim around the head of the cwm to eventually reach our high point of Graig Fawr, and a peep into the adjoining valley. Enjoying sweeping views to south and west, we stride out on the grassy high level ridge to Cefn Drum. From Twr Maggie, we survey the majestic Loughor Estuary below as we descend to complete our circuit.
Largely easy walking on grassy tracks, though will be some rough terrain and probably wet patches. Boots and poles advised.
Dogs welcome, on a short lead.
