A ‘post industrial landscape’ starting from Radstock Museum. The walk progresses via Whitelands and Lower Writhlington, Foxcote and Single Hill and back along the S&D Railway and the site of its most serious disaster with 15 associated fatalities. Post industrial? Hard to believe but this was once coal mining country with overgrown spoil tips and ranks of miners’ cottages being the most obvious remains. Otherwise, a fine rural landscape. Bring snack.
