Overview

The Elephant Oak has been nominated one of the top ten favourite trees in the UK for the Woodland Trust's Tree of the Year 2024. It's quite hard to find, but we are going to do it and have our coffee stop there!

This is a New Forest walk with good paths and tracks through old woodlands and heathland where we get some very good views. There is also a medieval hunting lodge and various old mysterious ridges and ditches.

It's pretty easy going with no stiles and no steep climbs.
