A walk in two parts, all on firm tracks or minor roads, taken at a leisurely pace. First, we will go up to the Epiacum Roman fort and return to the car park. Second, we will drop into the South Tyne valley, cross the river and explore the very quiet tracks and lanes on the far side. Good views to be had on a fine day.
The first section will be a there and back walk; the second is more of a circular walk (a lollipop shape really).
As the walk returns to the car park between the two sections, it will be possible for walkers to simply do one or other section if they want a shorter walk and take time out in the Nook tearoom attached to the car park.
