A wonderful low-level walk between two picturesque villages, much of the time alongside the Raven Beck, with magnificent views towards the North Pennines and the Lakeland fells.
The walk is on mainly good paths, farm tracks and quiet roads, over fields and pastures and through woods, although some stretches may be muddy after rain. There are also a number of stiles en route. There will be sheep in many of the fields, and there may also be ground nesting birds in some places, so dogs must be kept on a lead. There is one longer stretch of road walking. We may stop for refreshments at the pub in Kirkoswald after the walk.
