Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
This walk tracks the River Darent to Dartford passing through Farningham to the lower reaches of the Darenth Valley at South Darenth and Darenth. A walk with changing scenery along a variety of paths. Paths may be muddy after rainfall. Please bring a packed lunch.
Travel
Take the 10:16 train from London Blackfriars (Peckham Rye 10:31, Bromley South 10:53) arrives Eynsford 11:11 OR the 10:40 from London Bridge (Maidstone East train) changing at Swanley - six minutes to change for the 11:06 (Sevenoaks train) to arrive Eynsford 11:11
Buy a single ticket to Eynsford. Freedom pass holders buy a single from Swanley to Eynsford. For the return from Dartford use contactless, oyster, freedom pass.
Finishing Time
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken or unforeseen diversion due to paths closure.
Drop out point is at Farningham Road Railway Station. One train an hour at 43 minutes past the hour.
