A circular walk in woodlands, open fields and lavanda fields across the Darent Valley.
We setting off in Otford towards Pilot Wood and Beechen Wood, where we’ll enjoy shaded paths and the tranquility of woodland. From here, we continue towards Lullingstone Fields, offering wide, open landscapes before reaching the historic Lullingstone Castle. While we won’t enter the castle itself, we’ll pass by its impressive yet small exterior.
We’ll take a break for lunch at Lullingstone Country Park, where there are picnic tables and toilet facilities available. Please bring a packed lunch.
Our route then leads us back towards Otford via Castle Farm shop, where we can stop at the farm shop for refreshments. This is a perfect time to admire the breathtaking sight of the lavender fields in full bloom. As we near the end of our walk, we’ll pass through the village of Shoreham before completing our circuit in Otford.
For those who wish to extend the social side of the walk, we’ll finish with a well-deserved drink at at an old pub in Otford—an ideal way to round off the day.
