Overview

The three stones hill walk is a peaceful trail through Fetteresso forest with some brilliant views and the chance maybe to see some wildlife.  The track is easily accessible and in good condition.  The walk will take you to the North of the Three Stones Hill, through the forest and over the East Dumer Burn.  On alongside the Hill of Hobseat and we will follow the Cowie Water and pass Stonehouse and Tillybrake making a circular route back to the car park.

The Fetteresso Forest is a woodland that is principally coniferous situated in the Mounth range of the Grampian Mountains.  The forest has a number of prominent mountain peaks including the Hill of Blacklodge (343 metres) and Craiginour peak (356 metres).

This is a moderate walk with a small ascent and is mostly on easy forest tracks.  The walk is situated in the Fetteresso Forest and so any bad weather should be mitigated by the tree line shelter.
