The three stones hill walk is a peaceful trail through Fetteresso forest with some brilliant views and the chance maybe to see some wildlife. The track is easily accessible and in good condition. The walk will take you to the North of the Three Stones Hill, through the forest and over the East Dumer Burn. On alongside the Hill of Hobseat and we will follow the Cowie Water and pass Stonehouse and Tillybrake making a circular route back to the car park.
The Fetteresso Forest is a woodland that is principally coniferous situated in the Mounth range of the Grampian Mountains. The forest has a number of prominent mountain peaks including the Hill of Blacklodge (343 metres) and Craiginour peak (356 metres).
This is a moderate walk with a small ascent and is mostly on easy forest tracks. The walk is situated in the Fetteresso Forest and so any bad weather should be mitigated by the tree line shelter.

It is essential for the walk leader to know who is coming on the walk and to be able to contact people should there be any changes. Please remember to contact the walk leader if you are no longer able to attend.
Good walking boots, gaiters advisable, and waterproofs essential. Bring food and drink. Walking poles are also required.
Parking: The parking is free and situated at the trailhead. It is a gravel car park and adequate for a number of cars. Parking is best just off the road, not through the main gate.
Toilets: Are not available on the walk.
