A circular walk through the varied terrain of Blackhall Forest and up to Scolty Hill and return. We will head East on trails from the Shooting Greens car park – this will include mostly paths through forested areas. We will skirt the bottom of Scolty Hill, walk up to the top for the views and then take a different route back off the hill and back to the Shooting Greens.
The paths are usually easy to follow and going up Scolty is a moderate walk up to the General Burnett’s monument and then off the hill taking another route down.
Booking is essential. Please contact the walk leader Dawn using the contact details provided to book, or if you have any questions, by the Thursday evening prior to the walk. Please phone or text. If you leave a message please remember to leave your name and contact telephone number. Confirmation of your booking is required for attendance. It is essential for the walk leader to know who is coming on the walk and to be able to contact people should there be any changes. Please remember to contact the walk leader if you are no longer able to attend.
Good walking boots, gaiters advisable, and waterproofs essential. Bring food and drink. Walking poles are also required.
Parking - The parking is free at the fairly large rough car park at Shooting Greens car park off the Old Military Road (from Potarch).
