Overview

This is an easy figure of eight walk starting and finishing at the excellent Star & Garter in East Dean.

We start by going southwards up on to East Dean hill, with some wonderful views across the Downs. We then return downwaards thru some well established woodland, and back to the pub. Then its through the churchyard and up on to the Downs   again. Contouring through some mature woodland  we continue downwards  to Pond Barn, then following a chalk track to Postles Barn, we go upwards again, and eventually join New Road, which is another chalk track, back down to East Dean.

We have eaten at the the Star & Garter many times and have always been made very welcome and have enjoyed excellent meals. Depending on numbers attending, we may need to choose our food at the start of the walk, but i will advise you  if this is necessary
