A gently undulating walk across open Essex farmland and river valleys to Audley Park and Audley House and Garden.
Audley House is a spectacular Jacobean mansion with a parterre of shrubs, perennials and annuals. There is also herbaceous bedding at its vibrant best and Capability Brown parkland with views across the Essex countryside. We will spend at least 2 hours in the garden. Multiple toilets in the grounds.
The afternoon walk to the station takes less than an hour.
Entry prices tbc. English Heritage Members go free and Gardener's World 241 accepted.
Lunch A late picnic in Audley Park, or refreshments from the tea room or cafe. Access for those not entering the gardens tbc.
