Overview

PLEASE NOTE TRAIN IS NOW 11:03 START TIME IS NOW 11:50

A gentle 4-hour walk starting at Hadfield station and finishing at Glossop station, passing within sight of several reservoirs. There are some gentle ascents to each of the dams on the route and a gradual climb to Woodhead Road, after which it is mainly downhill into Glossop. You will see stunning examples of pioneering Victorian engineering as well as peaceful trails. Likely to be muddy underfoot in places and it may rain so bring suitable shoes or boots and clothing for the weather. We will stop for a break at a suitable point about half way round, so bring a packed lunch and something to drink.
