A classic coastal walk taking in Flamborough Headland, starting from the seaside resort of Bridlington and ending at the RSPB reserve at Bempton.
We will start at Moorfield Road car park and make our way to the harbour, along the promenade and up to the cliffs of Sewerby. We will have great coastal views all day and will see Danes Dyke, South Landing, Flamborough lighthouse, the Drinking Dinosaur, North Landing (for its classic caves) and Thornwick Bay. Near the end we pass through the RSPB reserve for amazing sea bird spotting opportunities, before heading to Bempton train station.
This is a 14 mile walk with lots of ups and downs. As this walk is taking place in August do bring lots of water! There are several opportunities for ice creams and refreshments on the way - you may want to bring cash as some of the smaller traders may not accept card. There are also toilet stops along the way.
The return journey back to Bridlington will be via train from Bempton. Trains are hourly and the time of the train will depend on the pace of the group. If we have to wait for a while at Bempton there is a pub we can have refreshments in. Otherwise we will have refreshments at Bridlington when we get back there.
The cost of a train ticket from Bempton to Bridlington will vary depending on whether you buy it at the station or via the app - it's currently £4.30 via the app.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.
