Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
A Hertford Circular Walk which is mainly flat with three short inclines. We follow the Cole Green Way to Letty Green which links with the Hertfordshire Chain Walk to Little Berkhamsted where we stop for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch.
Thereafter, we pick up the Hertfordshire Way to Bayford and then back to Hertford. There is some road walking which is more than compensated for by unpaved paths through fields and woods and the ambience of being in the countryside with an abundance of autumn colours. Purist of the countryside will not be disappointed.
We will be walking at a brisk pace of three miles per hour.
Drop-out points - after lunch at approximately nine and a half miles - Bayford Station for trains to Moorgate. Two trains an hour at eighteen and forty eight minutes past the hour. Please recheck these times in case there are changes including greater frequency during peak hours.
Travel:
Take the 10.12 train from London Liverpool Street Railway Station (Tottenham Hale 10.25), arrives Hertford East at 11.01. Buy a return ticket to Hertford East Railway Station.
