Overview

A walk from The Raddle pub at Hollington which has great views. We walk to Croxden Abbey and its impressive ruins and then on to Great Gate and the medieval whipping post over stiles, tracks and stiles, before returning to The Raddle where drinks can be taken.

We will have a short coffee stop at Croxden Abbey where English Heritage provided interesting information boards. Lunch can be taken in the small village of Great Gate where the medieval whipping post is an interesting artefact.

Approach the pub from Hollington village down Quarry Bank where the pub is on the left hand side. Please park in the pub car park on the other side of the pub, and not on pub car park before the pub where there are transparent pods.
