Overview

In the morning, the walk goes south past Winkhurst Green and then north to Hatchlands Farm before returning to Ide Hill for lunch.   About 5.8 miles and 470 feet/140 metres of ascent.

After lunch, we head west along the Greensand Way and then head south-west towards Obriss Farm.   From there, it's back past Henden Manor and the climb back to Ide Hill CP.   About 5.4 miles and 600 feet/180 metres of ascent.

This is a leisurely walk offering good views in familiar territory.  The ascents and descents are mostly gentle but there are a couple of steeper bits joining and leaving the Greensand ridge. 

Lunch is at Ide Hill.  The Cock Inn has a great situation on the village green for those who enjoy a pub lunch.  Picnickers will find benches dotted around the green and the community shop by the car park has its own cafe.

Park in the small car park at Wheatsheaf Hill on the B2042 at Ide Hill. There is a small cafe and shop and public toilets (paying). Please car share if you can. If the car park gets full, you can also park around the green in the main part of the village.
