Overview

This route follows the Iron Mountain Trail (part 2) to Blaenavon then going north of the Ironworks over an open industrial landscape (iron & mining) heading to the now closed Lamb & Fox..

We ascend Gilwern Hill and circle around to the east to overlook Cwm Llanwenarth with views of the Blorenge, Sugar Loaf and Skirrid.

We return by the remains of the Balance Pond.
