Overview

This 12.3 mile walk from Lenham up to the North Downs, proved popular in the last two years, so think it as worthwhile repeat for our 2025 programme.

Initially from Lenham, we follow the Stour Valley Walk, before crossing the A20 to ascend to Warren Street & Kite Hill Wood, to then pass the "mysterious lady in the woods". Our route then meanders through Stalisfield Green, before passing the Plough Inn, but panic not, as the pub stop is to follow. So continuing on we then reach Bowl Road and turn right to the Bowl Inn above Charing, where we will duly make our pub stop.

Following the pit stop, the route descends to meet the North Downs Way/Pilgrims Way, which we follow back to the Lenham Cross for the latter stages of the walk.

There will be the usual snack break along the way, as well as the planned pub stop, with further refreshment opportunities once back at Lenham.

There are a few climbs to get the heart pumping nicely, but nothing too taxing for the regular walker, could be a bit muddy in places.
