Starting outside the front entrance to Lewes station, the walk heads out of Lewes towards Kingston, then a steep climb up to join the SDW. We walk along with good views to the sea, before dropping down to Rodmell for lunch.
Option of a snack or drink at the Abergavenny Arms, or picnic spots in Rodmell. We return to Lewes walking alongside the River Ouse.
Catch the 09.58 from Brighton, arrives Lewes 10.12. Please note, an overtime ban as part of industrial action may affect National Rail services, so please check trains before you travel.
Car parking: free at nearby Lewes FC, or on adjacent roads or in the station car park (fees payable).
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
