Overview

Linear walk using public transport from Wakefield Bus Station. Catch bus 59a (10:20am approx. but check website/with the leader) to Notton Village Green. The walk takes us along the disused Barnsley Canal, through Haw Park Wood to Anglers Country Park and then to New Crofton for a bus back into Wakefield. There are no stiles and mainly on good tracks.

We will have regular refreshments stops including a picnic lunch at Anglers Country Park (toilets/cafe). Opportunity to visit the "Tony Wade: Boundary" exhibition in the Visitor Centre at lunchtime with 60 paintings of views from Wakefield's Parish Boundary.
