This is a circular walk out of New Mills, going out through the Torrs and then along the Goyt Valley past New Mills' famous llamas. We then climb up to Cracken Edge with views across to South Head and Mount Famine. From there we descend to Birch Vale and head back along the Sett Valley Trail, before returning to the Torrs.
The route mostly follows good paths. There is one main steady ascent from Goyt Valley up to Cracken Edge.
