Overview

This is a circular walk from Llysdinam along the Wye Valley Walk, branching off to climb to the top of Trembyd, where on a good day, there are excellent 360 degree views.  From Trembyd we descend to the foothills of Drum Ddu for a bit of yomping, before we make our way back to the start via farmland and lanes.

This is a great walk on a good day, with one major climb which, due to length & steepness, could be described as strenuous. We have said it is a moderate walk because of the length and most of it is - Ramblers do not recognise a category of 'energetic' which the climb up Trembyd certainly is!  Smaller ups and downs thereafter but nothing too bad after we descend from Trembyd.  The going across the foothills of Drum Ddu can be quite boggy, and there is no defined path, so PLEASE NOTE:  in the event of fog/mist we would have to cancel the walk.
