Overview

This section involves walking alongside a lengthy but pleasant stretch of the River Lee, through Waltham Abbey, over the M25, through farmland and Epping Forest, finishing at Theydon Bois Station. In general there are clear paths  although they are a little indistinct in places in Epping Forest. Paths may be muddy in wet weather. A few steepish hills in and around Epping Forest and three stiles.

Bring drinks and food as there aren't many shops or cafes en route except in Waltham Abbey (about 5 miles from the start). Broxbourne Station is on the Greater Anglia Line from Liverpool Street and Theydon Bois Station is on the Central Underground Line.
