This stage gives a quiet country walk going from church to church across the Essex upland. On this section we pass under the M11 and then cross back over the M25. The route goes in front of Hill Hall, a remarkable Elizabethan Renaissance building begun by Thomas Smith in 1577.
Bring a drink and picnic. There are unlikely to be an pub or cafe stops on the route, but we will finish our walk with a social drink.
Theydon Bois is on the Central Line. We will meet outside the station on Station Approach. Please let the leader know if you plan to join the walk.
The walk finishes at Brentwood Railway Station where trains run regularly into Liverpool Street.
