From Castleton bus terminus (toilets) we walk through the village before ascending Goosehill to join the path to Speedwell Cavern, taking in the great views along the Hope Valley, and cross Winnats Road. Here we continue along a field path almost to Treak Cliff Cavern before taking steps down to follow the old Mam Tor road as far as the site of the former Odin Mine. Turning back towards Castleton we continue on field paths passing Knowlegates and Dunscar Farms to reach Hollowford Road where we turn left (cut-off point). We then follow this road bearing right on to Robinlands Lane past the Activities Centre and Losehill Hall (YHA) to Spring House Farm. From here we continue along field paths into the village of Hope and the end of the walk.
Take the 9-46am 272 Bus Service from Sheffield Interchange(Pond Street) to Castleton. The walk leaders will join the bus en-route.
In view of the absence of a mid afternoon return bus service to Sheffield it is important that the walk reaches Hope in time to catch the 14-05 service.
