From Okehampton station we'll walk uphill to the army camp, over Black Down, and down to the Red a Ven brook, where we'll have a coffee break on the banks of the brook. The walk continues over Meldon Viaduct, along the West Okement river, and over Okehampton Golf Course.
Muddy sections, some road walking, tracks and paths, steady climb from Okehampton to Black Down, no stiles.
Two cafes at Okehampton station for lunch at the end of the walk if wished.
