6.8 miles moderate with strenuous climb to Bowstones
Park on Wood lane North or Wood lane West
Along the canal towpath towards High Lane. Cross a footbridge and head towards Lyme Park via Green Farm. Cross via a ladder style onto National Trust land and continue into Lyme Park . We will not go into the carpark, but turn right and head up hill towards Knightslow wood`
Continue through Knightslow wood before climbing up to Bowstones (ladder style out of NT land). Head south along the ridge before making our way down to Keepers cottage . Continue on past Birchencliffe cottages, the Coffee Tavern and Lockgate farm to Lyme view marina
No dogs – sheep and some cattle in the fields. Expect to finish about 1.15pm
Please bring a drink/snack for the 'coffee break'.
Miners Arms is permanently closed so lunch at the Boars Head in Poynton
