Murray invites you to a 6.5 mile leisurely circular walk around Crondon Park, just east of Chelmsford, including the pretty village of Stock, a sought-after address and famed for its five excellent pubs. Much of the distance is undulating with fine views to the west; there are good sections close to or through woodland. The route also passes through Crondon Park Golf Club on waymarked paths. Any road walking is on pavement or very quiet rural roads.
After the walk there is the option of a pub lunch at The Ship. The leader will have a menu to record choices from 10.00 on the morning of the walk. The menu is extensive and a prior view on the pub's website is recommended -- see link below. A coffee stop is planned in Stock at about 11.15.
Start time - note later than usual - 10.30
Car park of The Ship PH, Stock Rd, West Hanningfield, Chelmsford CM2 8LB. Favour the side away from the garden. Non-diners please park in the byroad facing the pub.
