Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform, at Piccadilly station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at the station in Mossley.

Transport to Walk Start: 09:58 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Huddersfield).

Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Mossley £7.00

Walk Start: Mossley railway station at 10:20.

Waypoints: Huddersfield Narrow Canal, Intake Lane, Warlow Brook, Alphin Pike, Carrbrook, Walkerwood Reservoir, Stalybridge Country Park, Millbrook, River Tame.

Return Services: x:16/18 until 20:18, 20:49, 21:46, 22:52, 23:50.

Extra: No toilets at walk start or en route. Optional pub visit at the end of the walk at The Commercial Hotel (next to railway station) or another pub of the group's choice.

This walk is fairly strenuous and includes an ascent of the 469m Alphin Pike, so a good degree of fitness is required.

The ascent to Alphin Pike summit is steep, but otherwise most of the walk is less demanding, with mild ups and downs.
