Overview

Parking at St. Mary's Lane CP is free on Sundays. Toilets are 20p.

The walk is divided into approximate thirds, with the first break not until about 12 noon and the second about 2pm.

We start straight out into the countryside with a sustained climb. There is one particularly awkward stile because it has a very high first step. We pass through arable farmland. Long trousers are recommended if you do not like vegetation against your legs. In places it is a bit lumpy underfoot. We drop down into Bourton to have the first break beside the church. Then we undulate over more arable farmland and climb to Wenlock edge where we have the second break. We undulate along the edge on rocky paths with some lovely views over Shropshire.  We return down through the middle of Much Wenlock.
