CHRISTMAS LUNCH WALK – DAVENPORT GOLF CLUB

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF START TIME!!!! 

Sadly, the timings for the “Christmas Spirit” entertainment we were expecting in Lyme Park has changed and we don’t need to be at the café by 12.

This means we can start the walk at our usual time of 10.00am and there is no need to book in advance.

Start: 10.00 am at Nelson Pit Car Park, SJ94472 83360, SK12 1TH.
687ft, 6 miles, easy walking with a couple of small hills.

Please park on the TOP car park – the ticket machine is on the lower car park.  Payment by cash, card or RINGGO (additional charges may be included).   

From the car park we head along the Macclesfield Canal, over fields, through woodlands towards Lyme Park.   This part of the walk will be taken at a leisurely pace to arrive at the Timber Yard Café just before 12 midday, where we have a festive surprise!  There are a couple of stiles, one ladder, and the pathway may be muddy.

We will stop for coffee at the café – and some festive spirit – it may well be busy as the house is open for the Christmas decorations etc, so I would recommend bringing your own drinks.

We will need to leave the café, promptly no later than 12.10pm!  A brisk walk out of Lyme Park (1 ladder stile) will lead us back to the canal and the car park, before heading to the Golf Club for lunch!
