A walk of two contrasting halves. The morning walk of 4 miles traverses three of the Royal Parks leading us to Trafalgar Square for an early lunch break. Best to bring a packed lunch, as it will be busy, but there will be time to purchase drinks and light snacks around the Trafalgar Square area - Recommend using the Crypt Cafe at St. Martins-in-the-Field, which has toilets. There are also many Christmas Market Stalls to browse nearby, or to buy refreshment. The afternoon 4 mile walk mostly follows the Thames Path on the southbank towards Southwark, passing Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, Tower Bridge with a few more Christmas Stalls on route to Bermondsey. We will see Christmas lights, several Christmas trees, plus lovely views across the Parks and along the Thames. Hopefully, many may wish to stop for a drink at 'The Angel' Pub along the riverside with its fine views looking back to Tower Bridge and the City, before our final 10 mins walk to Bermondsey Station.
Easy walking on paved paths.
Several Public Toilets along route and also close to the meeting point at Paddington Station.
Many dropout points at stations along the route.
Meeting Point at Paddington Station is on the Eastbourne Terrace street level exit of Elizabeth line, opposite entrance to platform 1 of the main concourse (FCB Coffee and Oliver Bonas are closeby)
