Overview

A short 5 mile walk starting from Penmaen at 10 am. We will descend to the back of Three Cliffs Bay via Notthill, the footpath here gives a lovely view of the bay. We will ascend to the top of the cliffs & wend our way around the bulk of Great Tor enjoying panoramic views Eastward, seaward & Westward. We will then take the cliff top path almost to Nicholaston Farm, before we descend to to Nicholaston Burrows & follow the footpath through the woods. We will take the path which traverses the cliff at mid-height before ascending towards St Nicholas church, Nicholaston. We will cross the busy A4118 a hundred metres or so East of St Nicholas church to take the foot path to Parsonage farm.  We will then walk a short distance East before striking back West & ascending to the ridge of Cefn Bryn. We will return to the start along Cefn Bryn. The expected finish of this walk at 12:30 pm. The walk may be a little short for our more experienced walkers, however allowing 30 minutes for lunch in Penmaen. I will lead a further 4 mile walk around Lodge Cwm & Green Cwm, which also starts from the car park in Penmaen. This will make an overall walk of 9 miles.
