We start from Peter's Green, leaving via a cleverly concealed footpath, to follow a route through fields of corn, alternating with green lanes canopied by beech trees and deserted country roads, to reach the hamlet of Bendish. After this we come across one of the best views in Hertfordshire, before crossing Lilley Bottom and ascending to pretty Frogmore with its duck pond. We then traverse the pleasant deer park at Kings Walden. The neo-Georgian house is barely visible from the footpath, but there are good views of the imposing ha-ha. We pass through Breachwood Green, and are once again in rolling cornfields, the path always beckoning us on, before we are once more back in Peter's Green and a drink at the Bright Star for those who can make it.
There is parking around the green at Peter's Green, and in some of the surrounding residential roads.
In one short section of this walk the path, although passable, is somewhat overgrown, so you may wish to wear trousers rather than shorts.
